30th September - 2nd october 2005 Low Tech Computing - Friday 30th September 2 - 6pm Workshops on how to make use of those computers that are thrown away. James Wallbank from RTI (Redundant Technology Initiative) will be visiting to talk and play, running workshops on using the free and open source operating system linux. Dry store - Friday 30th September 6:30pm Duo from irational.org will be providing a workshop on constructing a Brummie node in the Dry Store network. Dry Store is a network of cashes along routes, meeting points and journeying paths; a place for people to rest for free. The stores will be present within inner city and rural UK, installed into public space; attatched to the outside of buildings and dug into the ground. Energy Beyond Oil Paul Mobbs from the Free Range Network, will be scaring and preparing us for a future beyond oil. 3-5pm Saturday 1st October Energy Beyond Oil, a talk investigating our current use of energy in the UK,and how future trends will make energy and commodities far more expensive. 12-3pm Saturday 1st October + 12-6pm Sunday 2nd October Practical workshops including Autonomous Energy, Lighting and daylighting, Buying collectively, Small scale power and Autonomous Economics.See the EBO website for more info.
